Golf, pool, food and the occasional night out. Oh yeah and a bit of hockey now and then.
Dislikes:
Fitness basically because I’m lazy and losing finals on strokes. That sucks!
Expectations of the tournament in Vienna:
Obviously I’d like to see us win and I think we have the ability to do so. Also looking forward to seeing a high standard of hockey and hoping to gain a bit of experience but have a bit of craic at the same time!
Worst or Funniest Hockey Moment:
Worst moment was losing the Irish schools final for the second year in a row on strokes and the funniest was getting hit in the ass with a hockey ball in front of the whole school 3yrs ago in the irish schools and developing the nickname “Buttock” , which was chanted at every match for the rest of the tournament. Good times!
Favorite Sportsperson & Reason:
Don’t really have one. I suppose Keith Woods because he was a great leader and because he knew how to enjoy the game but really because I don’t know who else to put down.

Worst Hockey Moment:
Having to leave the pitch with a broken thumb, whilst getting beaten 10-0 by Reading in European Club
Championships in Brussels 2003.
Favourite Sportsperson & Reason:
Robbie Savage, His tenacious tackling and never say die attitude, even when singled out and abused by entire
stadiums full of people for his lack of talent and ability to rub people up the wrong way, is truly inspiring.
Also his god like locks are something that Sean Bán can really aspire too.

Like most ball orientated sports, and team games. Like player soccer with the lads during the summer, or with college class during the year.
Reading
Computer games
Chilling out
Dislikes:
Study (doesn’t everybody)
Expectations of the tournament in Vienna:
Each game will be tough and hard fought, so it won’t be easy, but we are going there to win. When we went to
Belgium in 2003 no one gave us a chance, and even though we lost each game we certainly didn’t leave ourselves
down. We ran the Germans close and forced them to change their game to beat us. That no mean achievement
considering we were playing against a team of experienced internationals. Now, this time around, our team is much
stronger thanks to good coaching and commitment, with five Internationals (compared to three in Belgium) and good
spirit.
Worst Hockey Moment:
Losing the Irish Senior Cup Final in 2004 – I wasn’t present in the squad the year before, so this year I understood how the lads felt after losing. It was especially hard considering the performance we put it on the day. Losing to Instonians wasn’t half as bad as just knowing we should have one, a sentiment echoed by some of their players in the paper the next day. But, in the end they finished their chances and worked hard so I’ll give credit where credits due.
Favorite Sportsperson:
Don’t really have a favorite sportsperson. Few soccer players I like, both for the skills on the pitch and attitude towards life – Ronaldinho, Alan Shearer, Alesandro Del Piero. Also
Charles Puyol and Xavi Hernadez, who both came up through the ranks at F.C. Barcelona, through the tough times and now represents Spain and co-captains their club. Just shows that hard work and effort still gets you places.
Any other comments:
Just like to take this opportunity to tank our sponsors Mervin and Judy Black for their continued support and financial backing. Without them this trip and all our previous training camps wouldn’t have happened, and the team would not be like it is today. Thanks very much guys!
Also, I would like to thank our supporters who have followed us wherever we have gone, and wish them a pleasant trip to Vienna, where I hope they will continue the massive support.
Long live the QUINS!!!!
