Veterans Festival 2005

Mens Section

There was a four way tie on 8 points each:
Hillsiders (England)
Worcester (England)
Poison Dwarfs (England)
Huff & Puffins (Scotland)

Although a 3 all draw with the Harlequins home team in their final game secured Worcester the trophy on goal difference,

Ladies Section

A spirited last match victory for the Gloucester Ladies over the Gin & Chronics (England) secured the Ladies section victory for Dr. Fosters.

A tremendous contest in the Dublin Derby resulted in a two nil victory for the "Floppy Bits" against the "Dolly Mixtures"

A sprightly, attractive and well turned out Harlequins Ladies team, who are in training for their trip to Holland, just pipped the Fermoy Ladies in the last match of the day.

Fair Play Award

Attendance at the Festival dinner in full battle costume by the magnificent & good humored "Trojans", secured the Jeff Cohen memorial "Fair Play" trophy for these happy visitors. The Rochestown Park, and the Great Southern Hotels are now struggling to recover from the attack on the alcohol stocks, with shell shocked bar staff undergoing counseling.

Cara Madden has again brought an eccentric bunch of veteran teenagers to Cork for a superb weekend. As the T Shirt of one of the "Hangmen" declared, "I am still 18, but with 42 years practice". Roll on Cork Harlequins August 2006.
