Quins won this game easily starting brightly and scoring from early pressure within the first 8 mins. Trish Moloney got her second of the season, finishing off a good Quins attacking move at the back post. Sue Barry added Quins second 5 minutes later form the second penalty corner, striking the ball from the top ot the D into the keepers bottom right. The UCC keeper made some great saves, the most noticable one being a great diving save to deny L. Cotter. Despite the continous attacking Quins, failed to add a third and kil the game off before half time. In the second half, Quins attacked with class especially down the right hand side, continually harassing the UCC players. Wave after wave of attack followed, with 4 more penalty corners being awarded, however none were converted. UCC did have a few attacks but none penetrated circle, and each one was followed by a quick counter attack by the Quins girls. From one of these T. Moloney got her second goal, running from 35 yards out, dummying the keeper and finishing cooly with a reverse flick over the diving keeper. In the last 15 mins E. Flood got a goal after some scrappy defending by UCC and T. Moloney finished her hat-trick off also. Special mention to the defenders and short corner defense team for keeping a clean sheet - the first of the season... Yipee!!!
