2001 Review
The Ups and Downs of the 2001 Season Written by Jay Gokul
The Harlequins 2001 cricket season was in many ways a case of 'So near and yet so far'. The cricket section ended this year without any trophies for our Senior (1st) Team. Although, we did have a player selected to represent the club at Munster level. Congrats to Richard Gash - no doubt some of the other lads will follow in his footsteps in 2002.
Victories rolled in for Jim Burfield & his minor team - winning the Munster League Divison 4, Cork 20 Over Cup and Cork 20 Over League. Keep up the good work and dedication for the 2002 Division 3 campaign.
Our main aim in the cricket section this year, was to build up our membership at all levels, and we have been very successful in achieving this. Our facilities and development plans are well under way; We have completed the restoration of of the square, and by the start of the 2002 season, we should have all our training and playing facilites completed. Thanks to Jim Burfield, Joe O'Mahony, Barry Denton, and Gerry Horan for their tireless commitment.

We have now dragged ourselves into the 21st Century with the launch of this website.
On a sad note, we had to bid farewell, in early November, to one of the greatest friends and supporters of cricket in Munster, Eleanor Coleman, wife of Bertie (MCU Umpire). Eleanor was a very frequent and welcome visitor to Harlequins, and will be sadly missed.
