Munster Senior Cup Quarter Final - Played in Midleton

Harlequins 1   76 all out
Limerick 1   77 for 1

After initially both being harshly expelled from the senior cup, Harlequins and Limerick eventually both played their senior cup quarter final match in Midleton last Sunday.

Expelled? i hear you say.. Why? Well lets just say it involved an 5pm email on a Friday, an (apparent) new rule, a few imaginary meetings, serious lack of communication, some very rash and peculiar decisions and an appeal with as many points as Chelsea’s run away league win!

Quins had a strong team out and welcomed back Rory Heaslip from college abroad. After winning the toss, Quins put themselves in to bat and got off to a bad start when Cormac Wilcox was dismissed early after a thin edge found the wicket keeper. The new partnership of Daryl Moyser and Richie Gash was also broken early on when Moyser was caught and bowled by Siebert for 7. Wickets fell at regular intervals and despite a brief resistance by Des O Leary Quins once again had a trade mark batting collapse and were eventually all out for a rather embarrassing 76.

Limerick top order made light work in chasing the low target and despite a great catch from Billy Perrott, easily made the target in under 14 overs.

Limerick were deserved winners and Quins wish them best of luck in the rest of the competition.
