Harlequins Cricket Match Report
Sunday 12 June 2005
Munster Division 2
Harlequins 2
40 All Out
Lismore
202 for 9
Perhaps not such a complete mismatch as the score would suggest, but still one we would like to forget!
If it hadn't been for Lismore's Mark Taylor making 105, this match might well have been there for the taking. At one stage Lismore were 40 odd for 6. Enough said.
As it was, the size of Lismore's total had the Quins batsmen swinging from the word go, and the result was a complete collapse. Little or no application was shown by any Quins player during the dozen or so overs that their innings lasted, and the rest is history.
Good ponts? A few. Our U13 player, Nathan Shunker, fielded exceptionally well and will make a fine player; Niall Grainger looked very capable behind the stumps despite missing two difficult catches off the bowling of Philip Russell. Seamus Gee and Jim Burfield both bowled very well, but Mark Taylor made shite of the figures of everyone else - I lost count of how many 6s he hit... - thank God he pulled a hamstring early on!
Team: Jim Burfield, Philip Russell, Julian Breary, Carus Benson, Niall Garianger, Jason Frankham, Jono Frankham, Nathan Shunker, Seamus Gee, Liam Hale.
