Club Championships Playoffs - Second Leg

Quins qualified for the Club Championship Finals with an 8-2 aggregate win over Glenanne. In the second leg Glenanne began the game strongly & put Quins under a lot of pressure. The highlight of this period of the game was some fantastic goalkeeping from Wesley Bateman. In particularly he made one outstanding triple save when it looked as if Glenanne had to score. Quins opened the scoring from their first corner in the 14th minute with a very accurate finish from John Hobbs. Five minutes later & Glenanne equalised from a corner. After the initial effort had been saved the ball broke P. Fitzgerald & he drove a low shot into the bottom corner. Quins responded positively & David Eakins powerful drag flick from Quins 2nd corner made it 2-1. In the final minute of the half Quins were awarded their third corner & David Eakins again scored with a drag flick to the roof of the net.

In the second half Quins scored two late goals. John Hobbs scored with two very fine corner finishes in the 30th & 32nd minutes, to finish the game with a hat trick of corners.
