John Hobbs opened the scoring after 2 minutes with a powerful flick from a short corner. David Egner scored the second goal after 5 minutes in an excellent move involving Richard Leonard & David Eakins. Dave Egner's first shot was well saved by Ian Hosford but Dave reacted well to score from the rebound. In the 9th minute John Hobbs scored his second from another corner. His first attempt was blocked but he managed to regain possession of the ball & scored with a well directed flick. Jason Black finished well from a short corner variation in the 16th minute. In the 22nd minute Mark Black picked out Conor Harte's attacking run & Conor running at pace deflected the ball over the advancing Ian Hosford with Richard picking up the pass to score from close range.

The second half began with Quins again pressing forward & when John Aherne's shot from the top of the circle was saved, David Egner nipped in to score from the rebound. Quins continued to go forward but a combination of missed opportunities & good defending prevented any addition to the score,
