Quins produced a quality performance when winning the Munster Senior Cup Final in Garryduff on St. Patrick's Day. Quins began very brightly & put CofI under pressure from the off. The pace of passing & movement of players off the ball were first class. Two corners were created early on & CofI did well to keep the ball out. Quins scored 3 goals in 4 minutes with some very creative attacking hockey. David Eakins scored in the 9th minute with a drag flick from the third corner. A minute later & Eaks scored again when he rebounded a corner with a powerful low shot which gave the keeper no chance. Two minutes later & Quins scored the goal of the game. Winning the ball in the Quins half a fast incisive break down the left found Paul Lombard in the circle & with excellent vision his pass found the inrushing Richard Gash who dived full length to touch the ball to the goal. CofI pushed forward but couldn't find a way past David Harte who made a couple of very good saves. John Hobbs was reading the play very well a made some vital tackles. Quins had a couple of more chances but couldn't get the vital touches required.

In the second half CofI attacked at every opportunity & scored from a corner rebound in the 54th minute. Seven minutes later & it was a case of game on as CofI reduced the deficit to 3-2. A sharp free from the edge of the circle was deflected to the net. In the 65th a swift counter attack saw Richard Gash running from the half way line & he drew the last remaining defender before passing to put David Egner into the circle. David showed great composure when rounding the keeper & striking his shot to the goal.
