Quins opened brightly & scored after 4 minutes when Mark Black deflected to the net from close range at the first short corner. For the rest of the half Quins didn't fire on all cylinders & looked a bit rusty probably due to not having had a league game for a number of weeks. In fact things could have been a lot tighter but for an excellent save from David Harte midway through the half.

Quins began the second half looking a lot sharper & a sweeping move in the 2nd minute saw Paul Lombard put the strong running John Aherne through on goal. John's cracking shot from the top of the circle didn't give the keeper any chance. There was more cohesion to the attacking play & things were much tighter defensively as well. Paul Lombard scored the 3rd goal in the 19th minute as he finished a short corner move. Richard Gash scored a cracking goal from a quick free by Paul Lombard in the 21st minute & Richard completed the scoring from a short corner in the 34th minute.
