Saturday 21st February 2004
Quins qualified for the semi-finals of the ISC with a very good performance away to Glenanne. Quins began strongly & scored after two minutes with a fine set piece finish from David Eakins. Quins continued to press but in spite creating a number of good opportunities failed to add to the early goal. Glenanne equalised from a very accurate corner strike after 16 minutes. Glenanne came more into the game at this stage but Quins created a couple of good goal scoring opportunities just before the half time break.
Within three minutes of the second half Quins took the lead when John Hobbs shot from a corner was saved by the goalkeeper and Edward Gash reacted fastest to force the ball home from close range. David Eakins scored two superb corners in the 7th and 10th minutes to make it 4-1 to Quins. In the 26th minute John Aherne's corner strike was saved by the keeper and David Egner was on hand to strike the rebound to the roof of the net. David Egner scored again with a good shot three minutes later after Ducks initial shot hit the post. A couple of minutes later David Eakins scored with a powerful stroke after Lee d'Alton had been upended in the circle. Lee almost scored himself a minute later when his reverse stick strike flew over the crossbar. Glenanne scored from a corner in the last minute to leave the final score 7-2 in Quins favour.
