Quins won their first Munster Senior League title in 3 seasons on Saturday. The two points gained from this game was sufficient, with one league match remaining to be played. In a game played in very difficult weather conditions, with a very strong cross wind both sides served up a very competitive game of hockey. Quins began the game strongly & created a few good scoring opportunities. Mid-way through the half David Lombard's shot on goal was well saved by the keeper, who also did well to keep out the follow up effort from Paul Lombard. A fine piece of skill by David Eakins in the circle created a very good opportunity for himself but again the keeper did well to close him down. The only corner of the half came Quins way but was well dealt with by the CofI defence.

In the second half the best Quins chances from play fell to David Egner & Edward Gash. Edward was unfortunate to see his shot from close range deflect off a defender's foot to go just the wrong side of the post. David Egner's deflected attempted from Paul Lombard's pass just got too much on it & was capably dealt with by the keeper. Quins second corner of the game from John Hobbs flew wide of the post. Finally with six minutes remaining on the clock & from Quins third corner of the game David Eakins scored when his flick flashed to the back of the net. Two minutes form time, also from a corner, CofI equalised from their first corner of the game.

Quins concluded their league campaign with a home win against Waterford. Highlight of the game was to goal scored by Avni Arya, who scored a goal within two minutes of his debut for the firsts having come on at half time.
