Irish Club Championships - Quater Final - Second Leg

Quins bowed out of this season's Club Championships with a 4-2 defeat away to Annadale on Saturday. Quins were without Paul & Johnta due to back injuries & lost Ducks after 15th minutes of the game itself. In a very open game both sides were determined to go on the attack at every opportunity. There were early chances for both teams with Wes making a couple of fine saves from Annadale corners. Quins had a excellent chance after 10 minutes when with a defence splitting run & pass from Locky, Ducks failed to hit the target at the far post. This was to prove costly as Annadale opened the scoring from a short corner rebound a few minutes later. After 25 minutes Annadale were two goals to the good with an excellent drag flick from a corner. Quins didn't let the heads drop & scored with an excellent corner from Eaks just before the half time whistle.

Early in the second half Annadale scored again from a short corner rebound to go 3-1 ahead. 10 minutes into the half & another fine corner strike by Eaks made it 3-2. At this stage Quins really had Annadale on the back foot but in spite of a lot of possession & a couple of good scoring chances failed to get back to parity on the day. With 10 minutes remaining Annadale broke quickly from defence & scored with a cracking reverse stick strike from the top of the circle. Quins kept going to the end & should have scored in the final minute but Eaks shot from close range failed to find the target.
