Quins made a good start to the league with a hard fought 4-0 victory over Limerick. A number of chances were created in the first 15 minutes with the Limerick keeper making some fine saves. Nigel Bryan was also very alert in the Quins goal making an excellent save early on. Quins took the lead in the 19th minute with an excellent strike by David Eakins from close range. The score remained at 1-0 to half time.

In the second half Quins presses forward with a bit more purpose & increased the lead 5 minutes into the half when Philip McLaughlin touched home a fine pass from Paul Lombard. Quins scored again within five minutes with a tremendous reverse strike by David Lombard which flashed past the keeper to make it 3-0. Ten minutes from time Paul Lombard scored with a shot from the top of the circle to make the final score 4-0.
