Quins produced a very good performance in the first game of the season. The game marked the competitive debuts of Chris Daunt & Philip McLaughlin. C of I defended strongly until the 28th minute when last seasons leading goal scorer Edward Gash got off the mark. David Eakins had his initial short corner shot saved & from the rebound he found Edward Gash who scored from a very acute angle.

Into the second half & Quins continued to press forward. Following some very good pressure Edward Gash won the ball & passed to Philip McLaughlin on the left. Philip made an excellent pass across the goal & the inrushing David Eakins dived to touch the ball to the net. Five minutes later Philip McLaughlin scored the goal that his performance deserved. He was put through on goal by an excellent pass from Edward Gash & he flicked the ball beyond the diving keeper into the corner of the goal. C of I scored in the 60th minute from a short corner.

Quins play Catholic Institute in the semi-final next Saturday.
