Harlequins Mens Hockey Match Report

Harlequins (D) 11 - Fermoy 0

(h.t. 5 - 0)

Division 3

Sunday 9th November 2001

Scorers: M. O'Driscoll (5), A. Bryan (3), L. d'Alton (2), D. Kingston (!!!)

Fermoy were very much below strength for this league game, fielding only 9 players. Quins were 3 goals to the good after only 15 minutes, playing with a lot of very good movement & passing. (It should be noted that manger & vice captain Hugh Rothwell left for the bar at this stage & failed to return!). Two more goals were scored before half time against a completely overrun Fermoy defence. Into the second half & the goals continued to flow freely. Mick O'Driscoll scored 5 goals for the second game running & is currently the club's leading scorer. Alan Bryan went on the complete a fine hat trick with an excellent strike from the top of the circle. Donal Kingston scored his his first goal in ages, when he swept the ball into an empty goal from a yard out - Thanks Lee. favourites, Annadale seconds in the next round.
