Harlequins advanced to the last 16 of the Irish Junior Cup with a fine 4-0 victory over Raphoe. Raphoe had a very solid counter attacking formation & really made life difficult for Quins in the first half. A number of good chances were created in the first 25 minutes, before Richard Gash deflected the ball past the goalkeeper from a Philip O'Driscoll short corner for the first goal after 29 minutes. Raphoe pressed forward before half time but failed to break down a very resolute Quins defence.

Two minutes into the second half Quins increased their lead when Mark Lombard swept a fine pass from Philip O'Driscoll to the roof of the net. Raphoe at this stage began to attack a lot more but found no way past Stephen O'Donovan & Mark O'Driscoll who both tackled superbly all afternoon. 15 minutes from time another Philip O'Driscoll corner was deflected home by Richard Gash. The scoring was completed seven minutes from time by Ciaran Nicholson who scored with a great shot from the top of the circle.

Quins seconds have been drawn at home to one of the favourites, Annadale seconds in the next round.
